Wal-Mart's Most Favored Nation.

From Reuters:

"It (Wal-Mart) bought $18 billion worth of goods from China last year. If the company were a country, it would rank as China's sixth-largest export market, ahead of the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Singapore and France, economists estimate."

uncle sam walton will sell it back to them in a few year through the Great Wall-mart at a fat profit. china could simultaneously become our low-cost producer and the high-priced buyer of US branded goods.

US it to the rest of the world what NY is to the US. the midwest are the low wage laborers. products and people get branded, packaged, and resold to the midwesterners at a much higher price. profits stay in NY and greenwich.

A possible difference is that the Midwest long ago gave up trying to supersede New York at the top of the food chain. On the other hand, China has and will always have that goal of out-hegemonizing the U.S. Witness their maneuverings thus far. Of course, the Chinese will likely implode through their misguided policy development and their lack of internal unity, as they have throughout history. The question is whether this will occur before or after they ruin the party for everyone else.
