Ballmer on Novell, Linux and patents
Ballmer on Novell, Linux and patents: "Linux comes from the community -- the fact that that product uses our patented intellectual property is a problem for our shareholders."
Amazing how Microsoft lawyers could figure out a way to extract a fee from users of Linux. Of course, even the US government couldn't beat their lawyers either, so it's not a surprise that the Open Source movement would be easy pickings for the Hegemony in Redmond.
The interesting questions is this: if Oracle will provide indemnification for users of Red Hat Linux that's re-branded under the Oracle name, will MSFT sue Oracle after they go after RedHat?
